”I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance…” [Ephesians 1:18]

There are basically two views—one we could label—light, love and laughter—the other—darkness, hate and misery.  What an utmost privilege to be given a choice.  It means we can choose the reality we live in.  One sees goodness and is overwhelmed by gratitude, the other sees wickedness and is lost in the worries of the world.  But the power to choose comes with the experience of the new creation—you must be born again!  [John 3]

Both of these views do exist side by side—we do not live in one physical dimension—all around us is another dimension, the spiritual dimension that transcends, supersedes and overcomes the physical– ”For everyone born of God overcomes the world.” Born of the flesh man is doomed to live by the flesh with no view but the view of darkness, hate and misery, but to be born again is to be given the greatest gift known to man the gift of—light, love and laughter.  “God is light; in him there is no darkness…if we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth.”

This is a basic reminder this morning with a built-in assessment—it’s not so much what you are looking at but how you are looking—which lens are you using? The world remains the same only the view is different!  It will determine two things—1) Your view shouts to the world whose you are—child of darkness or child of Light. ”You are all sons of the light and sons of the day.  We do not belong to the night or to the darkness.” [1 Thessalonians 5:5) What you see is what you get so if you see light it shall increase if you see only doom and darkness your view will become darker—choose God”…who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light”  [1 Peter 2:9b]
