”Let us start rebuilding…the God of heaven will give us success…” [Nehemiah 2:18c, 20b]

What to do when your view is of rubble, rubbish or ruin!—Start again see something beyond the rubble, rubbish or ruin!  When one season ends it often looks hopeless to the natural eye—it takes determined effort to see the Spring through the eyes of winter.  Here are some tips to turn your eyes to a different view.

1) The end of a season—is just that—it’s drab, dreary and emotions are generally drained.  Take a break—remember the fruit of the season—tomorrow will be built on yesterday, its good times and bad times.  ”The God of heaven will give us success.  We his servants will start rebuilding…”  [Nehemiah 2:20]  And we know that in all things “God works for the good of those who love him…”  [Romans 8:28]

2) Don’t go it alone—‘let us’.  Kingdom work is never done alone—we need each other.  God has connected you with others for a purpose—His purpose—it can only be accomplished as we affirm and accept each other.  “The whole company that had returned from exile built booths and lived in them…” [Nehemiah 8:17a]

3) Encourage each other—Regardless of the enemies tactics—remind each other–”Don’t be afraid of them.  Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome, and fight for your brothers, your sons and your daughters, your wives and your homes.”[Nehemiah 4:14]

4 Give it your all—Celebration and full completion is a given when you work with your whole heart. ”So we rebuilt the wall till all of it reached half its height, for the people worked with all their heart”  [Nehemiah 4:6]

5 Prayer and Praise—Season by season the purpose of our lives begins, ends and finds its strength in prayer and praise—work and worship—being and doing—it is written the leaders posted themselves behind all the people praying and praising God for the work going on…and reminding them… …Our God will fight for us…”
