“The Lord knows the days of the upright and their inheritance shall be forever” (Psalm 37:18)
We can’t really explain it, but we all know how it feels. A clean sheet of paper, a brand new journal, a fresh canvas or a brand new year… another opportunity. This is the time, this is the day, this is the moment, this is the new season – for such a time as this a dream can come true!
We are in the transition of shedding the old and stepping into the new. From a simple Nativity to expecting the King of Kings return, how shall we respond?
First, be still; don’t rush into the new without taking thought of the old. Ask yourself the following questions.
What worked in the past? What didn’t work? What had the Life and Joy of God flowing through it? The life of Christ is a life empowered by the passion of Christ – He is not dead, dull or dry! Throw away the should, the aught and the must of religious activity. Our God is the God of the supernatural; His presence can be nothing less.
Let new thoughts, new feelings and perhaps new direction flow into your spirit. Don’t settle for mediocrity, Jesus said; “No one puts a piece of un-shrunk cloth on an old garment; for the patch pulls away from the garment, and the tear is made worse”(Matthew 9:16) God doesn’t repair the old He restores it by making all things new.
Take a glance over your shoulder review the past, rejoice in all God has done then move on. This is a new season, let there be a reordering of your life and remember the Government is upon His shoulders, priorities will be re-established in peace, schedules revamped and new instructions from a Wonderful (supernatural) Counselor.
