”We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure…” [Hebrews 6:19a]

Those that walk by faith and not by sight draw from within the resources necessary for living in these precarious times.  Dependency upon external supply will bring an individual or a nation to its knees. No pun intended but we should be digging oil from our own soil!  As a people go so goes the nation.  If in the process of saving the whole world we loose our own souls what profit have we?

I’m not speaking of pulling yourself up by your own bootlaces—God forbid—but the awesome reality that without active faith the inner strength of God is dormant at best, dead at worst.   Listen to the amplified version, ”Now we have this hope as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul it cannot slip and it cannot break down under whoever steps out upon it—a hope that reaches farther and enters into the very certainty of the Presence within the veil”.  This is more than a spirit reborn this is a soul—[mind, will and emotions]—solid, stable, steadfast, shining with the glory of His Presence through faith that is active and alive.

Hold fast to your faith in God today—cleave to Him and follow His way—Look not to the left, nor to the right but cling to Christ with all your might—He will prove faithful and carry you through, He’ll finish the work He began in you.
