And the Apostles said to the Lord, Increase our faith.” [Luke 17:5 NKJ]

Yesterday we placed our relationships at the center of increasing our faith.  Lately as I have listened to others struggling with relationship issues it has been impressed upon me the necessity of aligning ourselves with the Word of God in every issue of life, and they all deal with relationships.   Alignment with the Word acted upon by faith will provide:

STABILITY – The move of the Spirit [or what is perceived to be Spirit] can quickly pull a Christian out of balance this too is brought back to stability by changing our focus from the me, you, them syndrome to what does God say!

SUPPORT – The Spirit will only do what the Word supports.  Even Jesus said,  “I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.”  [John 5:19 NIV] The Word tells us what would Jesus do.

STRENGTH – Faith based on what God says becomes faith based upon who God is and that kind of faith cannot be moved.  The Spirit moves in the same way that faith works and that is through love.  Without love there is a clanging of symbols and they usually say “I want it my way, in my time”.   Relationships become a battle ground.  [1 Corinthians 13]

SIMPLICITY – Communion is the greatest truth of simplicity of the Word.  Christ took the glitter and gold, the pomp and circumstance, the ritual, religion and rule and transformed it into an old wooden Cross, wore it on a human frame as a cloak of humility and said, “Follow me”!
