”Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea into dry land, and the waters were divided.” Exodus 14:21
“Catching the wind” is all about active faith—and courage. The Lord caused the wind to blow after Moses stretched out his hand. After you take that step of faith, after you quit looking back and start looking forward, after you raise the staff of God’s Word, then the mighty wind of God cuts through every obstacle and carves a way where there was no way.
Don’t walk down the corridors of the past; don’t meander down memory lane, lingering at its glories or pondering the powerless moments of failure. The direction you are looking is the direction you will find yourself moving. The wind will give the momentum to match the midnight miracle and move you forward. If you find yourself stuck, then you must be in the past. The wind gives God’s people dry ground. You won’t get stuck in dry ground!
Unbelief is sin but repentance turns the tide of God’s compassion. His mercy opens the way and divine intervention produces a miracle. ”Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them” (Mark 11:24).
The promised miracle may not happen ”immediately.” There was a major move of God—all through the night! Never think that what your eye sees is fact; faith knows that mayhem is still being held by the Creator and, behind the darkness, He is the power of the universe.
