Raise your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea…”   Exodus 14:16

The old saying is that your attitude will determine your altitude!  Standing firm is an inner discipline that allows right thinking (attitude) and right thinking (attitude) creates the momentum to catch the wind and press you forward.

The difference between a morning of miracles and a morning of madness is all a matter of right thinking (attitude). Use your staff as Moses did – the shepherd’s staff – the Word of God.  There is a continual working of the power of God when His vessel is a believing vessel and you apply His promises.   To think, to speak and to act is the basic process of all creation.  God thought, He spoke and He acted—He was totally involved with the incarnation of life in all of creation.

Sound thinking is sound doctrine and sound doctrine is the ballast that keeps your vessel on an even keel.  “It would be impossible to overemphasize the importance of sound doctrine in the life of a Christian.  Right thinking about all spiritual matters is imperative if we would have right living.  As men do not gather grapes of thorns nor figs of thistles, so sound character does not grow out of unsound teaching” (A.W. Tozer).

“Catching the wind” depends on how you navigate the tides and currents, what and how you think about life situations and your willingness to apply what you know to be truth.  This is the essence of “catching the wind.”
