Why stay here until we die? If we say, ‘We’ll go into the city’—the famine is there, and we will die.  And if we stay here, we will die…so let’s go…” [2 Kings 7:2]

No doubt about it those who won’t change and take a chance will be left behind, stagnate and die. The world around us is shouting lessons loud and clear, find the courage to try again, don’t stay in the same place, face forward with courage… but the best lessons come close to home.

I held the phone to my ear and heard our grandson’s voice “I won grandma”—what a wonderful lesson.  Just days before it had been different and a young lad’s heart was torn from losing his game—but the courage came to try again— and the words—“I won grandma”—that’s a living lesson of learning courage.

The key to success is not that we always win, but that we have the courage to keep on going, keep on trying and keep on courageously being able to change.  Courage is a leadership principle that by His Spirit God works through ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary things one step, one change and one challenge at a time.
