“I will establish your borders…” [Exodus 23:31]

In the circle of growth boundaries are always of primary importance.  Boundaries in the thinking process, allow you to think for yourself.  Whole and healthy emotional boundaries prohibit the manipulative efforts of others to use you; boundaries in God given schedules bear fruit and bring Him glory.   Knowing how far—how wide—where does the property line end?  Boundaries become the guard and guide to maturity in Christ.

God is a God of order—order means there are boundaries that allow personal space that is established and ordered by the controlling force of life.   For a Spirit filled Christian the Holy Spirit stands as sentinel over thought—emotion and schedule.  In the midst of the battle our minds need renewal to allow a paradigm shift.  Therefore be renewed in your mind by the Holy Spirit.  When emotions are healed the Holy Spirit provides a buffer of compassion for those who would try to manipulate you. Therefore, bless those that persecute you.  Alignment to God’s plan will set boundaries for daily living and schedule.  Therefore, your path of life is righteous and made level.

These boundaries are played out on the field of life through relationships—they are molded and shaped through the relationships we build, the distance between boundaries that are broken or those made whole, is the space where God lives.
