“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path” [Psalm 119:105]

My mother used to say “cleanliness is next to Godliness”.  Well I never have found that in the bible, but there is a principle and true biblical concept within the words.  The World didn’t start from a mess made by a ‘big bang’.  The world was created and controlled by the Word of God that when unleashed established order.

Clean off the desk, clear out the closet, clean up the kitchen…whatever area of life you are working in you must start clean.  Like a clean sheet of paper, starting clean gives you the freedom to ‘make a mess’.   Starting from a mess will create the atmosphere of being – out of control, you lose the ability to focus and perspective is fogged and fuzzy.  When you start clean you are prepared for whatever ‘comes down the pike’.

Order, or starting clean, allows freedom of thought—fresh ideas—different perspectives—imagination is allowed to dream and design the blueprint of tomorrow.  Starting clean separates the ‘used to be’ from possibility.  It’s the parable of the old and new wine skins that cautions against tacking on the old to the new making the whole thing weak and prone to falling apart.  Yesterday was the building block for today’s block to build a whole new level, yesterday is done, gone, and completed.  Today is new, fresh and has possibilities and potential that is unlimited…don’t start with yesterday’s mess.  First clean up the mess then begin clean and be prepared for tomorrow!
