Simply let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No’, anything beyond this comes from the evil one” [Matthew 5:37]

What we have here is the failure to communicate!   That said, with all today’s technology one thing remains top priority, the skill of communication needs constant attention.  Something that the fast pace of today’s society does not take into consideration.

Which means we must be able to say what we mean and mean what we say without all the extra verbiage which often results in confusion, misunderstanding and broken relationships.   Jesus is giving us one of the keys to the kingdom that is perhaps the most powerful key we can use.  The power and authority of honest communication!   The power was given at Pentecost; the authority is heard in speaking the truth.

Life is not a bowl of cherries, but it is full of ‘pits’.  The biggest ‘pit’ is in not taking the time necessary for honest communication, which is not an event but a process.    The ‘pit’ is the place where rather than taking time to listen and respond we jump into saying what we think and leave the other person choking on their own words.   Maybe it is time to continue that conversation that you gave up on.

Or perhaps as you activate the plan God has given you in this New Year you need to take the time to share with others, ask for prayer, when necessary ask for help.  Communication is part of birthing and building a life based upon your belief that God is initiating, inspiring and involved in the days of your life. You will be amazed at how wonderful His presence makes the most ordinary day and through communication can come the very connections your plan needs.
