”it seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first, to write to you an orderly account…” [Luke 1:3]

What a word of confidence Luke gives us this morning.  Here’s a man who declares he had perfect understanding of ALL things from the very first!  While the theologians of the day…and days gone past…still hum and ha about God’s Word, picking and pulling it apart for intellectual ‘depths’—Luke said, I’ve sorted this and here’s the way it was.  He gives us an ‘orderly’ account. Luke had taken the time to evaluate every report; he found no problem with the story of Christ from birth to death to resurrection!  Of things past, present and future.

He gave a historical account of the prophetic fulfillment of God’s spiritual deliverance and victory for all mankind.  His evaluation had a goal—that his friend would have certainty of what he had been taught.  As you read the story of the Christ child receive these four certainties to encourage you.

Assured Promises:  “…Not one word has failed of all the good promises he gave through his servant Moses.”  [1 Kings 8:56]

Assured Foundation:”See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who trusts will never be dismayed.” [Isaiah 28:16]

Assured Acceptance: ”All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away”  [John 6:37]

Assured Love:”For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come …shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” [Romans 8:38]
