”Give to the Lord the glory due His name… worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness” [1 Chronicles 16:29 NKJV]
As I slip from beneath the bed covers even the chill in the air could not vanquish the anticipation and thrill of soon coming Christmas.
I am in my senior years now and there are no children in the house, but as I rewind the memories. I remember years gone by when I was a child, I relive the absolute joy of the season—not for the glitter and lights, the presents, the sights and sounds, but all because Jesus was born, not just in Bethlehem but in my heart. Those in the pain of darkness may scream—there is no God—the unrepentant may remove our sacred symbols—yet God is!
Nothing can thwart the plans and purposes of God—nothing can remove what God has established—keeping Christ in Christmas has already been secured by His presence in the hearts of men everywhere. As long as there are faithful follows of Christ, as long as the fire of His presence warms our hearts then Christmas is forever. Jesus said, ”If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.” [John 15:19]
The mystery is bonded in love, wisdom and a heart that listens for that still small voice…and follows. This is why dawn is so glorious—it’s quiet….its here the mystery becomes reality, our souls are fed on the thoughts we think and Christmas never dies.
