“But I will stay on at Ephesus until Pentecost, because a great door for effective work has opened to me, and there are many who oppose me” [1 Corinthians 16:9]

As a woman called to preach the gospel 38 years ago I was given this Rhema word, and I knew the opposition of many men…but I learned quickly that it was a spiritual battle not a fleshly battle.  Paul himself said, “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” [Ephesians 6:12]

Unless we learn this lesson the enemy will use whatever weak spot we have in our thinking, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; …” [John 10:10a] and he does it through our minds, “for as he thinks in his heart so is he.”  [Proverbs 23:7]

Stealing your identity by opposing your calling is a major weapon of the enemy.  Every situation of life is for our development not our destruction.  Therefore, take every thought captive into the obedience of Christ, [2 Corinthians 10:5b] which means allow the Spirit of Christ to reveal truth and truth will set you free from the enemy’s deception.   Use the wiles of the enemy as a horseman would use a stirrup—place your foot upon the stirrup in the Name of Jesus Christ and use it to rise up, use the enemy’s ploys for God’s glory—ride that horse as an overcomer until you reach the finish line.

If God can use a murderer [Paul] a traitor [Judas] a coward [Peter] to say nothing of a female donkey, “Then the Lord opened the donkey’s mouth, and she said …” [Numbers 22:28] to bring about His purpose, then I am confident He can use a woman!   After years of traveling the world and preaching the gospel, though in weakness, frailty and much grace, I can say as Paul said,” I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision” [Acts 26:19]

That friends is all that counts!
