Consider the lilies…how they grow” [Matthew 6:28]

I was out walking one morning when the word REST came to mind along with this scripture, “If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers, most of which are never even seen, don’t you think he’ll attend to you?  Take pride in you?  Do his best for you!” [Matthew 6:29 The Message]

At the core of God’s rest is a stillness that comes from knowing who He is and who He has made you to be.  A person is known by the measure of congruency in their lives, what they say is what they do.  Listen to what God has said He will do.

First, you have His attention!  He knows the number of hairs on your head, he knows the number of the days you will be on this earth, he knows the plans He has for your life, and in fact He knew that before you were born!  [Matthew 10:30, Psalm 139:16, Jeremiah 29:11, Isaiah 44:2]

Second, He will ‘take care’ of you!  More than give you His attention He will provide for you, He will protect. He will see and attend very detail of your life.  [Philippians 4:19, Psalm 91:2, Matthew 10:29]

Third, He takes pride in you!   He has created you for His glory.  He says you are a chosen special child of God, you are precious in His sight, and you are the workmanship of His hands.  [Isaiah 43:4, 7 10, Ephesians 2:10]

Four, He will do His best for you!  His best was His life, but there’s more!  He will make straight the crooked places, make a way where there is no way, and give you the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places.  [Isaiah 45:2-3]

What is your part?  Rest in the finished work of Calvary!  Love the Lord your God with your whole heart!
