I hear this most gentle whisper from One I never guessed would speak to me…I took the world off your shoulders…”  [Psalm 81:5b-6a The Message]

Permanently moving from city to mountains or just ‘getting away from it all’ reveals the addiction of inward as well as outward activity, yet amid such addiction a gently whisper comes…”I took the world off your shoulders.

Let go—the Lord of the universe is in charge.  And the One who spoke the Word into existence brings to remembrance His plan and purpose—“and the government shall be on His shoulders and of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end.”  [Isaiah 9:6-7]  No end—a continuous revelation—a constant moving forward toward growth and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ!

As the leaves begin to change I am reminded that life also unfolds in stages and God has plans and purposes we know not of.  Jesus said, I only do what I see my Father doing!  So”…Stand in awe, and sin not; commune with your own heart…and be still”.  [Psalm 4:4]

Now you have ‘come apart’ remember it was in the outskirts of the city that Samuel spoke to Saul and said—“stand still awhile”  God has a word for you!  [1 Samuel 9:27b] Let go of all that responsibility this morning… be still and hear the whisper…I took the world off your shoulders!
