”…the Egyptians will know that I am the Lord.” [Exodus 14:4c]
Do you remember, or at least have knowledge of, the route and reputation of the pilgrims who won this land? They went through fire, they went through flood, and they fought the Indians. Through storms and near starvation yet they kept moving forward! Of such was their desire for freedom.
However, in reading the story of the Israelites flight to freedom, they were told to follow God’s direction knowing that the enemy was going to pursue them, but having been told God would gain glory they obeyed. It is a ‘given’ that whenever the Body of Christ moves forward to gain spiritual freedom the enemy does not like it!
Moving into and through transition is never easy whether hacking through thick forests, struggling through the desert or warding off the attacks of this world. Today has its own problems and situations; the enemy will use whatever he can to hinder, manipulate, weaken or stop your progress. When he does just remember three things:
Press on toward the goal:”…Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead …press on to win the prize for which God has called…” [Philippians 3:13b]
Ponder this promise:”Stand firm and you will see the deliverance of the Lord will bring you …the Lord will fight for you, you need only to be still.” [Exodus 14:13]
Pray and Praise: It will break through every resistance:”About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God…” The praise was such it caused heaven to rock the foundations and suddenly, “…the prison doors flew open and everybody’s chains came loose”. [Acts 16:25-26]
