“In order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus” [Ephesians 2:7]

Ever wonder why you find yourself doing something that you hadn’t thought consciously about doing?  Whether good or evil [we could say ‘bad’, but call it what it is ‘evil’].  If this is you, then welcome to the human race expressing the human condition and the difference Christ can make in our lives.

As humans we predetermine our actions, we consciously make our intentions known, they are deliberate.  However the motivations of our heart are birthed from unconscious desire and move us spontaneously toward that desired goal.  They cannot be masked.

There is an answer.  The power to change that ‘condition’ is to allow the word of God to sink deeply into the unconscious depth of your heart.  At the same time, if those actions are ‘good’ then recognize and give God praise for His glorious gift of grace and the word made alive.

The word heart in the Jewish-Christian tradition refers to the source of all physical, emotional, intellectual, volitional, and moral energies.  From the heart arise unknowable impulses,

once the light hits them, it is obvious to all who are wise and discerning.  In other words our actions speak louder than our words.  This is why the Jesus said, “…wisdom is proved right by her actions.” [Matthew 11:19].  Remember His grace is always sufficient; turn your intentions to Him and give Him Praise.
