And God said, “See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food. …I have given every green herb for food ….”                [Genesis 1:29-30]

Talk about going green and the incremental process of time and life management.   From the beginning God goes straight to the heart of the matter by giving everything “green” and in “seed” form.  Life doesn’t “just happen.”  Life grows and develops from seeds.  As the saying goes, “you can tell the root by the fruit it bears.”  Even God’s own Son, became a “Seed” of eternal life.  “Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made.  He does not say, And to seeds, as of many, but as of one, And to your Seed, who is Christ” [Galatians 3:16].

Wisdom this morning is reminding us that what is green and grown from a “seed” is important to life.  In changing my diet, I have re-learned about chlorophyll, biological extracts, grains and the simple wisdom of healthy eating.  I am also reminded that eternal life which is present from spiritual conception grows and develops, also by healthy eating.  Christ who is the “Seed’ is also the grain of the bread of life.  “I am the bread of life which came down from heaven.  If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever…” [John 6:51].

Just like Joseph who became overseer of Egypt, the growing Christian’s life should be a storehouse and filled with provision for a nation that is spiritually starving.   As a word of caution, we have become a people weak from eating both spiritual and natural foods stripped of all nutritional value.  Just like the natural seeds, in these days the life of the spiritual seed is processed until no supernatural power remains and the natural mind is twisted and unable to discern a lie from the truth.   Eat well and live well supernaturally!
