Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “this is the way; walk in it.” [Isaiah 30:21]

In the midst of a nation gone wild, full of rebellion and those that make league with the spirit that is not God’s Spirit, man is adding sin to sin.  This is spoken by Isaiah not to the world, but about God’s own people and it is no less so today.   There is much confusion in the Body of Christ, teachers tickling the ears or falsifying the Word so that people flee in fear searching for a ‘safe place’.   Two things are needful when the roar of the world and voices of man reaches such a pitch, when adhered to we can receive the promises.

  1. Return to God and rest, be quiet, trust and God will give you confidence and strength. Realize that of your own strength you will never turn but cry out for God’s grace and He will hear you.

“In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength but you would have none of it”.  Rest is a great sense of peace, trust is the ‘sitting your whole weight down’ on something.  Confidence knows the heart does not condemn itself; therefore we have confidence with God.

  1. Listen very closely—not to the roar of the wind or storm around you, but listen to the still small voice behind you.  If God is behind you speaking His direction you can be confident that His power will move you in the correct direction, all the while protecting you from behind.   He’s the buffer between you and whatever you have to walk away from.
  2. He will send you rain—the blessing of God falls on those that walk their journey with Him. You will sing and your heart will rejoice with praise and worship—this is the inheritance of the saints.
