Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign…” [Isaiah 7:14]

When you walk in the Spirit you instinctively know which way to go; the ‘signs’ direct your path.  God uses ‘signs’ to reveal Himself and His love.  Responding instinctively opens doors that follow the path God has already ordained for you. I know my plans for you said God and through David we hear,   “…the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations.”  [Psalm 33:11]

Once on the path instinct creates a distinctive call, a call unlike any other and a new dimension unfolds, the dimension of faith becomes a way of life.  So how do we read the signs?

As with our scripture today signs often present themselves as something new, something even odd or something difficult to comprehend.  However signs, like the sign of a babe in a manger, or the burning bush of Moses  cause us to stop and pay attention.  Take heed Jesus said.  To take heed is to reflect in hindsight what has already taken place.  Hindsight takes hold of ownership by observation.  As you behold what has happened hindsight gives you insight – an understanding, a direction, a wisdom to consider.

Once there is a distinct call, choice can be made, life takes on hope and encouragement.  A purpose rises and foresight offers a goal to reach for, a prize to be won, a mountain to climb, and a destiny to fulfill.

This morning take a few extra moments and observe the ‘happenings’, signs or situations in your life and listen for insight.  Insight will then give you foresight that will thrill your soul, challenge your heart and draw you deeper into the Father’s heart and purpose.
