“…What do you seek?” [John 1:38]

Getting the correct answer to the ‘how’ question relies on asking another question, ‘what do you seek?”  In what area of life, for what purpose or reason do you wish to increase?

In our Unique By Design training we deal with and share how to receive vision, how to develop and set life goals and what steps are necessary to fulfill the call and destiny of God.  To do so means every area of life requires us to ask the first question.  ‘What do I seek’ – spiritually, personally, for family, career/ministry and financially.  All the issues of life flow from the same source – from within.  “Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.” </I> [Proverbs 4:23]

John the Baptist knew the secret of increase, “before increase he said there must be decrease. “ [John 3:30]   The gardener calls it pruning, the corporate world calls it ‘down-sizing’ the husband calls it tightening your belt or cutting back!

The question, ‘what do you seek’ was asked of the disciples by Jesus.  The disciples’ response was, “we want to see where you live!”  Jesus said – “Come and see”.  This interaction is where the rubber meets the road.  It separates the men from the boys.  The real follower of Jesus from the reluctant wanderer.   It’s the fork in the road, it’s the moment of decision.  If you really want what God has planned for you then take the ‘right’ fork and find your delight in Him,  “Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart”  [Psalm 37:4

Life is full of decisions, before you loose sleep by listening to all the reasoning of the world ask yourself, “what’s my objective – what am I seeking for”.   Every decision when beginning with the question, ‘what do I seek’ will prove what you delight in and bear the fruit of your desires.
