“Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now,  you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious JOY! “ (1 Peter 1:8)

If your religion makes you miserable, then try a relationship with Jesus Christ!  It is joy inexpressible and glorious!   To look at some Christians would make any unsaved person run in the opposite direction, always full of negative talk and dire circumstances.  Yuk!

In spite of all the circumstances and worldly problems, we must remember we are in the world but not of the world.  We have a different operating system—it’s called faith.   It’s not “pie in the sky.” It’s not “make believe.” It’s not “Oh! I hope so.”  It’s not pretense. It’s real JOY!

When Thomas was full of doubt and unbelief, he was miserable to the point that he said, “Unless I see the wounds, unless I feel the scars, I will not believe.”  He didn’t want to just “see” Jesus; He wanted to “touch” him; it was a tactile or tangible experience.  The woman with the issue of blood said, “If I could just touch the hem of His garment…”  (Mark 5:28). By faith she did and was healed.  Don’t you know she was “one happy camper.”

Those in Peter’s day didn’t see or touch, but they were filled with inexpressible and glorious JOY!  However, there are two prerequisites: love and belief.  Doubt makes an unbeliever miserable.  If that’s you this morning, use your seed of faith.  Ask the Lord to let you “touch” Him and you, too, shall have INEXPRESSIBLE and GLORIOUS JOY!
