“For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things whether things on earth or things in heaven…” [Colossians 1:19]

Whenever things are broken we have all manner of substances that we are told will ‘fix it’.  We use these substances believing they will work and when directions are followed they generally do…for a season.

In our Word for today we are given the guarantee that things can be fixed permanently!  However, the same requirements are necessary…they have to be applied.  Faith, the writer of Hebrews says is a substance, so use the substance and everything that is broken can be fixed.  How do you know it’s fixed?

First, the substance is the gluon that has united us with the God of the universe. “My prayer is…that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you…”  [John 17:21]

Second, once united it is transformed into the same nature. “…He has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature…”  [2 Peter 1:4]

Third, it is an unbreakable, everlasting ‘fix’.  “…If God is for us, who can be against us?” [Romans 8:31]

Finally, this ‘fix’ creates peace, meaning nothing missing and nothing broken, this substance is the blood that was shed on the Cross!  [Colossians 1:20] When Christ applied His Father’s directions and died on the Cross the resurrection power was released to make the impossible possible.  How do you know it’s fixed?  By the peace that surpasses all understanding and the miracles that follow active faith!
