“Let us fix our eyes on Jesus… who for the JOY set before him…” [Hebrews 12:2]
We spoke yesterday about ‘focus’. Besides allowing the battlefield of the mind to become one of victory it has the profound effect of releasing JOY! According to Nehemiah, who was also laboring in God’s work said, “…the joy of the Lord is your strength.” [Nehemiah 8:10b]
This also means the plan God has given you for 2015 comes into clearer view. There is a constant renewing of the vision, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.” [Revelation 4:2] This realigning of vision also brings redefining of the way ahead. After all if you don’t know where you’re going how will you know when you get there?
Let’s face it the capacity for human beings to see the invisible and hear the over the droning of worldly noise is an impossible task, without daily refocus. Thomas Traherne writes, “Is not sight a jewel? Is not hearing a treasure? Is not speech a glory? O my Lord pardon my ingratitude, and pity my dullness who am not sensible of these gifts.”
We think too little of these great gifts and too much of worldly pleasures; we become weary of well doing. Jesus was able to reach the fullness of God’s plan for His life because He knew it held ‘unspeakable’ JOY! When we approach the awesome responsibilities of fulfilling God’s plan with the same attitude we step into the same luxury.
