”When we remembered Zion. We hung our harps upon the willows in the midst of it” [Psalm 137:2 NKJ]

Israel was in the bondage of Babylon.  The nation was ‘going down the tubes’.  God’s people were stunned, paralyzed and the enemy taunted and mocked them saying …sing your songs of Zion now!

Sounds like the U.S. and the nations of the world – torn by internal conflict, deep in the bondage of debt and corruption!  What must the Body of Christ do?    Listening to more ‘daily news’ of how bad things are is the shovel the enemy uses to dig your pit of depression deeper.  You can’t ‘fix’ it!  There is no ray of sunshine, no light at the end of the tunnel.  So what is the answer?

The state of the nations is dependent on the state of every individual and realizing the response they give to national collapse can release the power to ‘fix it’ or go down with the ship.

You can either whine with a sense of hopelessness and fall into the depths of depression and despair or remember WHO BROUGHT YOU OUT IN THE FIRST PLACE and rejoice with exceeding great joy.  Our God is the same yesterday, today and forever and the song of redemption is a song  of praise!   Earlier David had penned these words, “We were like men who dreamed, our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy! “   [Psalm 126:2]

The nations are crumbling from the inside out.  People of God keep singing the song of the redeemed.  Call it confidence, call it faith or call it perseverance.  Call it what you will, but use the gift of creativity and initiative that God has sown into your heart.    Remember who God is and how He brought you out of the darkness into the Glorious Light of His Presence and …sing!
