“To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven” [Ecclesiastes 3:1]
Lord help me to step more deeply into the pace you have given me, to walk before you and be blameless. To know that like the autumn season being still is just a part of change. The leaves that fall create a grave, but one that springs forth with new life of a different kind. Bark splits and provides a resting place for tiny creatures. Life transforms into a more beautiful grain to hide beneath the shallow place where debris of forest fare creates a cover and there to wait the Spring rains.
To reach to know tomorrow shades and denies life today of all its full orbed glory, for today, this day is the day of your salvation. To allow eternity into every waking moment stretches that moment into days and days become years until no time is gauged by the ticking clock. Yes learn to rise above the storm and overcome, but learn also to settle your heart in the center of the storm for there the eye can see more clearly and the ear finds a quite place.
It is in the center that stillness knows true momentum, where, without hassle or harbinger, life spins out to weave the best that seasons can contribute. You are hidden in the secret place of God where life is freely given and freely spent.
The evening shadows grasp to hold the light and absorb its warmth before the darkness comes, but there, just there in the corner of the room, a memory bounces into life and it is Spring again. The living hope that never fails will spring up and fill your days with excitement and anticipation.
