”…keep your lives simple and honest…” [Zechariah 8:17 The Message]”
We’ve all heard it—the simple life is the ‘stress-less’ life—not stress free but ‘stress-less’ Some stress is necessary for us to activate and allow the energy of the Holy Spirit to flow into and out-through our lives. But the bottom line is wherever Jesus is enough—Jesus is enough and He always speaks ‘peace’ and ‘prosperity’.
Whatever you are worrying about today will be replaced by the time tomorrow arrives or you will find whatever you were worrying about was not necessary in the first place. Godly living brings Godly contentment and according to Paul this is great gain. “A devout life does bring wealth, but it’s the rich simplicity of being yourself before God. Since we entered the world penniless and will leave it penniless, if we have bread on the table and shoes on our feet, that’s enough” [1 Timothy 6:6]
Sounds to me like money is not what we need!!! What we need is far more necessary than money that at best is temporary and at worst self-inflicted bondage! If you lived in a place where there were no shoes and no bread what good would money do you? However the relationship to your heavenly Father would bring the simplicity of knowing you may ask whatever you will and it shall be provided. Simplicity means wisdom that reveals honesty—what do you need and why do you need it?
