“The LORD shall go forth like a mighty man; He shall stir up His zeal like a man of war. He shall cry out, yes, shout aloud; He shall prevail against His enemies.” Isaiah 42:13

I have seen the enemy and the enemy is ‘me’! What a profound sense of understanding comes when this truth penetrates our soul.  Others may do as they will—my battle is within my own soul.  It screams when things go wrong, it stubbornly refuses to let go, and it conjures up a mountain of justification for not doing so! It dances with disappointment allowing it to lead into depression, swirling down the spiral staircase and there to knock at the door of defeatism.

It took a dream for Nechuchadnezzer to understand that the price for self-aggrandizement was the total annihilation of his pride. [Daniel 4]  When by Grace his mind and intellect came under the authority of God the blinders came off, he was free to fulfill the purpose of God’s Grace—

Which is to give God Glory!

When the prodigal son found he was wallowing in the pig-sty God’s grace suddenly brought clarity and his mind was altered, “…he came to his senses…”  and rushed to honor God.

Child of God, when the soul screams and shouts, you have the power of Grace to command it to ‘shut up’—listen instead to the cry and voice of God—He by grace will transform your thinking, bring your mind back to its senses and  prove, “God is for you not against you…”

Paul longing to spread this good news wrote to Titus with these words. “For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men.  It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age.”  [Titus 2:11-12] Learn how to say no to the flesh, the world and the devil—by the Grace of God.
