”…The king sealed the stone with his own royal seal and the seals of his nobles, so that no one could rescue Daniel.” [Daniel 6:17]
Do you ever feel ‘alone’? Most people do at some time in their lives and Daniel was certain to have those pangs of ‘aloneness’ especially now; not only ‘alone’, he had to contend with the lions but, Daniel was committed.
Sometimes the greatest days are when something grabs you, days of struggle or suffering and you’re all alone. They are days of your greatest battles. These are times when commitment proves itself or men drift away like the tide.
There was a time in Paul’s life when he said no man stood with me, but all men forsook me. Noah built the ark alone, Abraham wandered and worshipped alone, Elijah sacrificed and witnessed alone, Jeremiah prophesized and wept alone and Jesus loved and died ‘alone’. Alone often describes commitment.
So how do you stay and stand in commitment when you find yourself ‘alone’.
FOCUS – It is during the times of ‘aloneness’ that your vision sustains you, your goals ground you and your passion will consume you. FOCUS is the power to draw you into the safe place of steadfastness and balance. The eye must be singular at such a time as this. There can be nothing or nobody to cast a shadow over the vision of Christ and the purpose He has given you.
The secret of staying power is FOCUS!
