“I delight to do Your will, O my God; yes, Your law is within my heart” [Psalm 40:8]

If we can receive the truth of yesterdays words – “as a Christian you are living IN God”, then life becomes a search for ‘doing unto others as you would have them do unto you’.   The impressions of your heart to reach out to others and make life a little more joyful, a little less painful, and a great deal more hopeful releases the JOY of Kingdom living.  To see the simple ways and random acts of kindness that are all around becomes the opportunity for miracles to take place.  You will find your JOY depends on being others minded, without that attitude life is full of self and woe is me.

Remember when you sent a card, spoke a kind word, made that phone call, or wrote a thank you note.  These are the ingredients that make up a life filled with JOY.   It is as though an act of kindness opens the floodgate to the JOY of our salvation.  Acts of kindness carve your name on hurting hearts and God’s law is fulfilled.   The writer of Ecclesiastes said it this way, “Sow your seed in the morning, and at evening let not your hands be idle, for you do not know which will succeed, whether this or that, or whether both will do equally well.” [11:6] What greater wisdom could be found to fulfill God’s law than random acts of kindness it is the mystery of living IN God?  It means your act of kindness is full of His Presence!

Finally, if you are down-hearted or depressed learn to lift others first.  The act of kindness becomes the power to lift you to a place of Kingdom JOY!
