”Now He Who has fashioned us [preparing and making us fit] for this very thing is God…” [2 Corinthians 5:5 AMP]
Thousands of people are watching, either on the television screens or up close. The hurricanes have abated and have been preempted by the volcanic eruptions! We live from crisis to crisis and for some it is not only up close, but it’s up close and personal. In these times Paul says—you have been made to fit!
Listen to the promise that proves we have been prepared and made to fit. First, the same power that caused the volcano to erupt and the hurricane to blow is the same power that God has given to us—“…who also has given us the Spirit as a guarantee.” [2 Corinthians 5:6 NKJV] “Guarantee for what?” You might add. Well listen again. Second, “…we are always full of good and hopeful and confident courage…” [2 Corinthians 5:6a AMP]
Confident that the God who made the volcano and shakes the volcano is the same God who has created us and equipped us to face our personal challenges. Courage is not the lack of fear. Courage is the application of faith and trust in God who has equipped us with the power to overcome. “Courage is that quality of mind which enables men to encounter danger or difficulty with firmness, or without fear or depression of spirits…The highest degree of courage is seen in the person who is most fearful, but refuses to capitulate to it.” [Spiritual Leadership – J. Oswald Sanders]
Whatever challenge you face today step out in faith and be encouraged you fit the day because you have been prepared and empowered by the One who created the day!
