Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be.  My Father will honor the one who serves me.”  [John 12:26]

I remember  as a child standing on the side lines of the school playing field— The coach would call out the positions  to be filled for the game of ‘rounders’ and everyone held their breath.  Suddenly you hear your name, heart bursting you rush forward to join the circle of players and everyone moves over to allow you room!

What joy fills the soul of the one called out from the side lines to serve the Master Coach.  Such a thrill comes to those who are willing to move on, to move out and to move over and be part of His team.  Not pushing or shoving, not vying to make their own niche but simply waiting on the coach to make the call.

Honor—the word carries with it the first promise of God. “Honor your father and your mother so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you” [Exodus 20:12]

Our God is a ‘plural’ God, a triune God who honors the function of each Godhead personality.  He therefore, works in harmony with all those called to work the harvest fields of His Kingdom.  Honor is the power of harmony and evidence of service, “Be devoted to one another in brotherly love.  Honor one another above yourselves.”  Move on, move out, or move over—this is faith in action and the power of multiplication in God’s Kingdom—to such as this we are called.
