and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God” [Ephesians 3:19]

The Will of God always begins with this little four letter word—love.  You absolutely will not ‘know’ this dispensation with your head knowledge.  Jesus said, “You diligently study the Scriptures because you think that by them you possess eternal life…yet you refuse to come to me to have life.”  [John 5:39]

The fullness begins with experiencing His love at Calvary and understanding comes slowly as you learn to walk in love, leaning into Him in total co-dependency.  “Every situation and circumstance of life is then saturated by love to: heal, restore, deliver, altar, cleanse, recreate, reshape.  Our eyes are readjusted to ‘see’ God in all people and all circumstances” [Journey to Deeper Intimacy-DHale]

The Spirit of Love leads.  It is the inner drum beat.   Years ago on a trip to Florida I asked my hostess, “What is the continuous thumping that I hear”?  Her answer was—what thumping!?  Once I described it she just smiled and, “Oh that’s just from the military base you get so used to it you don’t hear it anymore.”   Its love that creates the hearing ear and opens the heart to His fullness.

Being filled with the fullness of God takes our participation.  It’s a fruit of obedience.  If we don’t tune ourselves to hear we cannot obey and if we don’t obey we miss the continuous direction that love gives.
