Six days you shall work, but on the seventh day you shall rest; in plowing time and in harvest you shall rest” [Exodus 34:21]

This is not only a historical command to the Hebrew nation, but a prophetic word for man today in the year 2006.  The first step of obedience requires that one day out of seven shall be a day when all commercial activity shall cease.  This was the schoolroom of learning the principles that would bring understanding; Christ would become the living principle.  It was a community wide shutdown to allow total concentration on who God is celebration of His authority over all creation and the consecration of man’s life back to God.  It is the basic, fundamental formula of life, without which the complexity of man’s unfolding destiny cannot be achieved or understood.  Christ came and fulfilled the requirements and in the fulfillment opened the door to deeper understanding of what this love relationship with God is all about not just one day a week but every day!

When you’re all strung out with stress regardless of where you are, you can slip into the ‘rest’ by concentrating on Him.  Listen -”My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest” [Exodus 33:14]   “God keeps renewing the promise and setting the date as today.” [Hebrews 4:7 TM]

When situations and circumstances keep bashing up against the borders of your life – celebrate! “Celebrate God all day, every day.  I mean, revel in him!” [Philippians 4:4 TM]

We have become one with Christ therefore; we are no longer under the law but living in a love relationship that has met the requirements for us.  Closing up shop for a day is a temporary measure with no permanent power to restore unless you crawl up close to the heart of God and rest!

Today remember when you concentrate, consecrate and celebrate you are Rejoicing in Eternal Security Today!
