LESSONS FROM ESTHER

Esther 4:1-17

Esther had come a long way by …from nobody to Queen. Now everything was ‘on-the-line’ and all eyes were on her. What can we learn from Esther in her time of testing?

Esther’s was so stunned by the public spectacle that her uncle was making of himself that her initial response was—lets cover up the problem. Then wisdom was given and she asked for more information. Esther called for Hathach, one of the royal eunuchs whom the king had assigned to wait on her,

and told him to go to Mordecai and get the full story of what was taking place. Esther was given all the information and a copy as proof of what was happening.

Esther’s next natural response was—let’s keep quiet about it. As a national leader Esther was being called upon to use her influence with the King. Wisdom caused Esther to involve her prayer partners knowing that the task was bigger than she was, the risk was great and called for a greater commitment.

  • Honesty is the best policy—there could be no cover-up and no compromise
  • It is important to know all the facts before making a decision
  • Always test the information that is given—seek to gain proof
  • The most important gift we have as women in business is the influence God has given us
  • As women of influence we must use our voices to influence the society we live in
  • Prayer support is essential whenever God is desiring to use His people to impact society
  • Do not hesitate to make a commitment—this may be the hour of your destiny
  • God’s work shall be accomplished regardless of your participation = but without commitment “…you and your father’s house will perish.”

THE KINGS RESPONSE:

“And the king said to her, “What do you wish, Queen Esther? What is your request? It shall be given to you—up to half the kingdom!”
