“I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes and you will keep My judgments and do them” [Ezekiel 36:27]

You have surely heard the saying, “It is the ‘buts’ that separate the sheep from the goats’.  Two points of interest – it is the goats that butt heads all the time; a sure sign of rebellion and then of course there is the phrase of the unrepentant.  But… you just don’t know my story, my misfortune, and what my enemies have done to me!

Bottom line – God is the initiator of all new life and as such has already given the power to ‘do it’ His way.  The same grace [power] that brings redemption is the same grace [power] that empowers us to live according to His thoughts and His ways, not ours.   No if and or buts can excuses the ways or reasoning of man, they will not work.

It is a calling for perseverance – one like the western world knows little about when measured by the suffering of the early saints and the suffering church.  But… Jesus says, “Behold! I have given you authority and power to trample upon serpents and scorpions, and physical and mental strength and ability over all the power that the enemy possesses; and nothing shall in any way harm you.”

To ‘behold’ means to take hold, take ownership and by the faith of the God of the Word stand firm and move forward.
