But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” [Romans 5:8]

She walked into the room full of sorrow and weeping—a year of sobriety lost to the gentle persuasion of a parent who tempted her to…just have one drink with him.  Parole broken she finds herself back in jail her life torn apart by one misguided choice, one mistake had placed her life back behind bars.

These are the moments when compassion breaks the heart and the awesome grace of God rushes in to comfort, it is here the message of David’s mistakes minister mercy.  “He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.”  His message becomes a miracle and through a repentant heart God’s peace begins to flow.  David made what man considers major mistakes, adultery, deception, murder to help us understand that every mistake can be turned into a place of the miraculous.  Sorrow is turned into singing as God fills David’s heart with a new song, “He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God.  Any will see and fear and put their trust in the Lord”.  Despair became a place of deliverance and out of spiritual sickness and wounding came salvation and witness of God’s amazing grace. Out of failed parole came eternal pardon by the king of kings!
