“Roll your works upon the Lord, commit and trust them wholly to Him; He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and so shall your plans be established and succeed.”   [Proverbs 16:3]

Don’t get caught up in the war of ‘is this you or me Lord’.  Whatever plans, thoughts and dreams are birthed in your heart—Roll them upon the Lord—this word ‘roll’ is the same as ‘commit’ or for a word picture think of how a camel responds to his master when they have reached their destination.  The camel bows down low and allows the ‘burden on his back’ to roll off.

The next instruction is to ‘trust them wholly’.  Release them totally to His care—God is faithful He will take your thoughts and plans, sift through for any mismatch to His Will for your life.  And, having removed all hindrances He will establish your plans—which means He will remove all doubt by empowering your actions.  This transaction carries with it a guarantee—your plans will succeed.

In her book “The Five Silent Years of Corrie Ten Boon”, author Pamela Rosewell More quotes Corrie as saying, “I love making plans, even when I was a young girl I made lots of plans,  Friends used to ask me how many plans I had and in answer to one of them once I said, Sixteen.  ‘Huh, how many of those do you think you can work out?’ my friend said.  I answered her with another question, ‘How many plans have you?’ ‘None,’ she replied.  ‘Well, if I work out only two of my plans I will have done more than nothing”  However, with her planning she also turned her path of life over to her heavenly Father by praying daily, “Lord, keep me close to Your heart, so that I see things as it were more and more from Your point of view”

Praying and planning—two sides to the same coin.  When Moses built the tent as a place of worship it was to God’s exact specifications [Acts 7:44 TM] When Solomon began to build it was with the plans that God had placed into the mind of his father David.  ”David…turned over the plans for everything that God’s Spirit had brought to his mind…”  [1 Chronicles 28:12TM]  Remember…plan the work through prayer—then work the plan by His Presence!
