“…In quietness and confidence shall be your strength.” (Isaiah 30:15b)

I know the stress of hundreds of e-mails, many of them garbage, and never ending advertising!  I am aware that the Morning Light may get ‘side-tracked’, left unopened. or from shear volume sent to ‘delete’.   But I am pressed by the Holy Spirit to sound the alarm and remind us all – God is not mocked!  What we see happening in the world and in the church is proof we are reaping what we have sown.   Hear this word from The Message:

”God, the Master, The Holy One of Israel, has this solemn counsel. “  Your salvation requires you to turn back to me and stop your silly efforts to save yourselves.  Your strength will come from settling down in complete dependence on me.  The very thing you’ve been unwilling to do…”  These words are not to those who do not know God, but to His chosen people.

According to Webster quietness is: “calm and unmoving; still, free of turmoil and agitation, untroubled.  Restful; soothing, characterized by tranquility, serene, peaceful.”  It is to this that we must be drawn if we are to be revived and renewed.  To reach this peace would, by its own character, restore a troubled soul, heal a wounded heart and settle a turbulent mind.”   It would also result in priorities being adjusted and God being seated on His rightful throne in our hearts.

This is not only a word of warning this morning, but a way of restoring, renewing and refreshing for life.

“It is only when our lives are hid with Christ in God that we learn how to be silent unto God, not silent about Him, but silent with the strong restful certainly that all is well, behind everything stands God and the strength of the soul is that it knows it.” (Oswald Chambers)
