Consider the lilies…how they grow” [Matthew 6:28]

I was out walking one morning and the word REST came to mind along with this scripture. “If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers—most of which are never even see—don’t you think he’ll attend to you?  Take pride in you? Do his best for you!” [Matthew 6:29 The Message]

At the core of God’s rest is a stillness that comes from knowing who He is and who He has made you to be.  A person is known by the measure of congruency in their lives—what they say is what they do.  Listen to what God has said He would do.

First, you have His attention! He knows the number of hairs on your head—he knows the number of the days you will be on this earth—he knows the plans He has for your life— [Matthew 10:30, Psalm 39:4, Jeremiah 29:11, Isaiah 44:2]

Second, He takes pride in you! He has created you for His glory—He says you are a chosen special child—you are precious in His sight—you are His workmanship! [Isaiah 43:4, 7, 10 Ephesians 2:10]

Third, He will do His best for you! His best was His life, but there’s more—He will make straight the crooked places, make a way where there is no way, give you the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places. [Isaiah 45:2-3]

What is your part?  Rest in the finished work of Calvary—Love the Lord your God with your whole heart!
