“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases.” [Psalm 103:2-3]
If man were not fallible he would not fall or fail, but the fact is he has and does. Sickness is part of the human equation. If this were not so, God would not have spoken through the Psalmist that He promised healing for our diseases. The same breath of God that spoke forgiveness has also spoken healing. Sickness is a fact of life. But the same God that created within man the systems of life has done so in such a way that cooperating with His original design will restore the balance and harmony Christ came to give.
We are an imperfect and frail humanity, but the mercy of God opens our eyes to the wisdom given to us as His children. “And if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ…” [Romans 8:17]. This great inheritance is filled with the awesome wonder of life that can be balanced and in harmony in such a way as to create worship beyond our imaginings. Worship that fills us with awe at His greatness drawing us back as we journey together into that original union with God. It is His faithfulness that causes us to be able to say with Job, “My foot has held fast to His steps; I have kept His way and not turned aside.” [Job 23:11]
“Since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe.” [Hebrews 12:28]
