“Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves.” [Romans 1:24]
I heard recently of a minister who had officiated over what was termed a same sex ‘commitment service.’ How sad and how thick is the deceit of darkness of some that claim Christ as the Son of God yet ignore the authority of His Word! Unwilling to break the law of the land by calling it ‘marriage’ it seems breaking God’s law has no thought of consequence.
We live in a region known as the buckle of the ‘bible belt’ of this nation, yet the enemy of man’s souls has twisted the truth until God’s house is full of uncleanness. I mourn and weep for God’s people and seek for understanding – and then I read this.
“As for your nativity on the day you were born your navel cord was not cut, nor were you washed in water to cleanse you; you were not rubbed with salt nor wrapped in swaddling cloths.” [Ezekiel 16:4]
To be ‘born again’ is to become a new creation, [ref. 2 Corinthians 5:17] created by a seed of purity. An incorruptible seed that by virtue of its nature is truth and cannot be made unholy or impure. [ref. 1 Peter 1:22-23] Life in Christ is a journey and we all need His mercy morning by morning, but mercy like forgiveness is not given for permission, but for the power to repent and accept the authority of the Word of God as the rudder of our lives.
