You’re blessed when you can show people how to cooperate instead of compete or fight.  That’s when you discover who you really are, and your place in God’ family”  (Matthew 5:9-The Message)

One thing about the Beatitudes…we cannot possible live them in our own strength, and that is the crux of the matter.  This is not a challenge, but a choice.  Cooperation means I admit of myself, by myself, I cannot accomplish the task.  One person doing all he can do may achieve magnificent levels of accomplishment, but they fade in the awesome ability of the team.  “Just as there are many parts to our bodies, so it is with Christ’s body…for we each have a different work to do…each needs all the others” (Romans 12:14-15 -TLB)   Paul’s letters are full of the results of partnership.  Passion grows, productivity increases, prosperity flourishes.  It’s at that moment when maturity is seen in healthy interdependence, when our ability is fitly ‘joined’ to cooperate with the whole, then the blessing of God is manifested.

During past decades we have heard words like ‘global village’, ‘it’s a small world’ and getting smaller and the ‘world in my own back yard’.  I have traveled to some distant cities and jet lag became a way of life that is helped by learning bio rhythms.  Billy Graham said;  “Our world has become a neighborhood without becoming a brotherhood.”

When we partner with others we know who we are; when we know who we are, we have the security of ‘belonging’ to the team; this is our corporate destiny and our JOY! (Philippians 1:4)   When we are all ‘fitly’ joined “God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams!” (Ephesians 3:20-The Message)
