But if one loves God truly with affectionate reverence, prompt obedience, and grateful recognition of His blessing, he is known by God recognized as worthy of His intimacy, and love, and he is owned by Him” [1 Corinthians 8:3]

So you thought that he or she loved you, or at least respected you…until…something scarred the relationship and left you in anger, disappointment, humiliated and with all kinds of emotional pain.

Troubled relationships are a continual pattern of natural life until grace teaches us about false expectations, what real love is, boundaries etc., only then is the frailty of human expectation transformed into knowledge of God’s love.

God’s love is unconditional but according to Paul there are some recognizable attitudes that allow us full access.  Our love for Him is full of reverential awe that empowers us to promptly obey and releases a gratitude that overflows our hearts with pure joy!

They are those moments when words are not enough to express the wonder and joy of being His.

Paul says this attitude results in having a heart that understands that the creator of the universe ‘knows me’ and in knowing me actually sees me as worthy of being intimately involved with Him.

It is the only love that can heal the broken places of life.  It is never scarred neither does it fail to fulfill expectation, and no other relationship can or should claim ownership.

For God so loved the world he gave his only begotten son…”  No other relationship is designed to fulfill this love…but God.
