“For this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: There will always be flour and olive oil left in your containers until the time when the LORD sends rain and the crops grow again!”  [1 Kings 17:14]

Like the ebb and flow of the ocean—the seed—the bud—the ear of corn—seasons come and seasons go— the headlines speak of higher prices, less supply and undeniable stress mounts.   Nevertheless, feast or famine nothing changes the process or faithfulness of God.

The trust and assurance that God is faithful to His Word is not an easy lesson, neither is it learned once and for all time.  As with all work of the Holy Spirit His teaching is ‘line upon line’ and ‘precept upon precept’.  Little by little the enemies seeds of fear are driven out. ” Little by little I will drive them out before you, until you have increased enough to take possession of the land.” [Exodus 23:30]

Notice the process—something goes out before something comes in and increase and possession are the goal!  But there is a third ingredient in the equation of increase and possession—an act of obedience to move forward—keep going, pressing in and pressing on—do what you were planning on doing the prophet said, but first let me share your food then watch as God brings the increase. [v.13]
