“If you do not stand firm in your faith, you will not stand at all” [Isaiah7:9b]
On the news recently I saw and heard the news concerning Israel and the Syrian border—across the screen came the Israeli tanks and the voice of the Holy Spirit said to my heart—Israel is a war machine—my thought was and rightly so. In response, the message of the Holy Spirit was that He has and is developing His people to be spiritual instruments made of the same fortitude. A tank is generally impenetrable—an instrument of authority. A machine that claims the land it moves upon and overcomes every obstacle.
The Word of God is the instrumentation of a people of power and authority—not from an outward appearance, but by the intestinal fortitude and integrity that knows how, when having done all, to stand firm!
Moses was told, “Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians [enemies] you see today you will never see again. The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still” [Exodus 14:13] The Psalmist reminds us, “…the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations” [Psalm 33:11] God is for us not against us—“If the Lord delights in a man’s way, he makes his steps firm” [Psalm 37:23] Seek to partner with those that will cover you with prayer, Paul said, “…that you may stand firm in all the will of God, mature and fully assured.” [Colossians 4:12] The devil is roaring around, but God’s people have the power to “resist him, standing firm in the faith…” [2 Peter 5:9] Stand firm then!
