“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.” [Ephesians 3:20 NKJ]
The place of your testing has become the place of your triumph! What glorious words these are this morning. Just as the angel of God said to Jacob at the river Jabok [Genesis 32:28] “Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, [deceiver] but Israel [praise] for you have struggled with God and with men, and have prevailed.”
You have a divine calling this morning. The great ship of your life has not been built to hide in safe harbor, but to ride the open seas, live offensively and overcome every obstacle. Christ is Lord and He has placed within you the power to walk in the exceeding and abundant life of God. Jesus said, “…if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, Move from here to there, and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you…however, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.” Whenever there is an immovable obstacle within or without do these two things.
First…pray—pray longer, pray more fervently. Submission by turning to God will establish divine order and authority …the power within can only be strengthened when it is surrendered to the One who has all authority. His presence cleanses the soul of hidden shadows and collapses the lies of the false self,
Second…fast—deny yourself something that will cause the flesh to have less control, something that will cause the false self to face the truth and surrender—whatever you think you just must have—you don’t!
We are much more ready to celebrate what Jesus Christ has done than to surrender to Him. I do not mean the initial surrender to God of a sinner, but the more glorious surrender to God of a saint. [Oswald Chambers]
