“All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.” [Acts 2:4]
Times have not changed—the same strength necessary in the birth of the church is still necessary for the building of the church—the power of the Holy Spirit! “Think of God in His foraging, invading, energizing, vitalizing, renewing, enlightening, convicting, and strengthening aspects, and we shall come somewhere near the Holy Spirit”. —Sam Shoemaker.
Here are three things the Holy Spirit will do in your life if you yield to His powerful presence.
- Countenance—there’s no mistaking those who are filled with the Holy Spirit—there is brightness, a joy, a healthy glow—it flows from the presence of Jesus Christ. “Let you light so shine before men…” [Matthew 5:16]
- Character— there’s no compromise when you are led by the integrity of God’s Word and Spirit. This is why David said, “Behold, You desire truth in the inner being; make me therefore to know wisdom in my inmost heart.” [Psalm 51:6]
- Conduct—there’s no hypocrisy when the Holy Spirit is the guide and Counselor “…when He the Spirit of truth has come, He will guide you into all truth…” [John 16:13]
Countenance, character and conduct, the fullness of the Holy Spirit will weave the inner tapestry of strength shining with the Glory of God and that’s strength for the battle.
