Lepers laying around at the city gate—a great multitude laying around the pool of Bethesda, moaning, whining and wishing—the children of Israel building caves to hide in—a great celebration with only water to drink—only one thing would make a difference—they had to do something—they had to take a risk and perhaps fail, they had to act and look foolish—but it was that or stay in the mess of mediocrity!

The lepers suddenly realized their only hope was to ‘do something’ either way they may face death by starvation—the man at the pool suddenly realized others couldn’t help him, he had to help himself or stay where he was for another 38 years—Gideon had to trust God, protect their crops and stand against the enemy and those that celebrated had to believe for a miracle.

Read the stories, stories of those without a living faith—until they suddenly realized it was up to them—what they believed would only work if they did.  James said faith without works is dead!

The writer of Hebrews said without faith it’s impossible to please God.  It is the way of life for a Christian—he is birthed by faith, lives by faith, stands by faith, walks by faith and is made righteous by faith!  Faith is the substance that forms the steps of the righteous man—
